Pair of library globes produced by Thomas Malby. The engraving of the gores is by Charles Malby using information from the Society for the Diffussion of Useful Knowledge. Dated 1854, the terrestial globe has all the lastest information including a chart of population, whilst the celestial, dated 1850 shows constellations and star magnitude as set by Piazzi. The mahogany three legged stands are carved with foliage decoration and have inset compasses.
