Description:
Fascinating diagram published for Parliament detailing a scheme to develop what was to become Regent's Park.

This design was developed by John Nash and was adopted with the backing of the Prince Regent, with work beginning from 1818 onwards. This design for the park was far less urbanised than the design put forward by Leverton and Chawner and is a prime example of Nash's use of the "Picturesque" aesthetic ideal. Althought there have been additional developments to the Park, Nash's design is the underlying development of what became Regent's Park. Original hand colour. [LDN6240]
