Description:
Iceland divided into four regions: north, south, east, and west. These are then subdivided into syssels, an ancient land-division unique to Scandinavia.

Only two towns are marked - Skálholt and Hólar, the two ancient episcopal seats of the Bishops of Iceland, though several smaller villages are dotted along the coast. Rivers and mountains are the only other features shown.
