Turcicum Imperium
The Middle East showing the territories controlled by the Ottoman Empire, including Arabia, the Levant, Egypt, Libya, Mesopotamia, and Turkey. The large, decorative title cartouche features a depiction of the Ottoman sultan on his throne, flanked by two Classical figures representing war and strife. The Latin text below the throne roughly translates to "Harmony makes little things grow. Strife destroys even great things."
Spanish descriptive text on the verso. Original hand-colour. [MEAST4423]
