Le Royaume de Siam avec les Royaumes qui luy sont Tributaires
This map of the Kingdom of Siam and its tributaries covers much of modern-day Thailand, along with parts of southern Cambodia and Vietnam. A near identical map by Pierre Mortier was first published in 1692, though Mortier's imprint has here been replaced by Joachim Ottens's name, suggesting that Ottens had subsequently acquired the copper-plate or the rights to publish this map for use in his composite atlases. The map's crisp engraving, clarity of detail, and fine original colour make this an extremely attractive map of the region.
Bright original hand-colour. [SEAS5053]
