IU
City plan of Lopburi, Thailand, known to Europeans at the time as Louvo. Lopburi was formerly a second capital of the Kingdom of Siam and housed a stately royal palace, now a museum. The palace is marked on the map in yellow and with the letter 'A'. Other important public buildings are also listed in the idex to the left of the map. These include the residences of the ambassadors of France and Persia, the Royal Gardens, a Jesuit observatory, and the plaza where the royal elephants were exercised. Outside of the city's walls, at the top of the page, is a stockade where wild elephants were held for training.
