The layout and geographical outline of the map is based on a map of the same area issued by the Society of Useful Knowledge in the 1840s. Subsequent edition of this work augmented and revised this map with additions such as the railways. This version by Bacon has increased its size and added block colouring, making it easier to distinguish the various counties in Ontario. Original colour. [CAN3079]
