| A pair of terrestial and celestial 12-inch table-top library globes on turnedwood stands with brass full meridians and with compasses in the base. The terrestrial globe is dated 1827 and the celestial globe is dated 1800. It is not uncommon for pairs of library globes to have mismatched dates as terrestrial globes were constantly kept up to date, whilst celestial globes were rarely updated.[GLOBE277] |
