The Burma campaign of WW2. This map shows the infrastructure and lines of communication constructed to support Allied movement in Bengal, Bangladesh, and Burma. Airfields, oil pipelines, roads, and railways are marked. Calcutta, Chittagong, and Dhaka are marked.
This map was published in The War Against Japan, volume 3: The Decisive Battles (1961), one of the many volumes which made up the UK government's official history of the Second World War. The authors of these volumes had access to records which were still highly confidential at the time, making these fascinating objects of historical record.
