Unusual untitled chart of the Gulf of Siam with the coasts of Cambodia and Vietnam.
This map has been attributed to Henry Gregory with a date of 1787, suggesting it was by Gregory the Younger. The firm, began by Gregory the Elder often worked in partnership with William Herbert, one of the leading publishers associated with the British East India Company and Far Eastern directories. The chart is drawn in fine detail and is reminiscent of early maps by Robert Sayer, also often associated with William Herbert. [SEAS5129] |
