Description:
|
|
An early infographic chart showing the comparative elevation of the mountains of the world as perceived in the early 19th century. This image is quite rare as it was not present in Thomson's first issue of his General Atlas and was only included in the later publications. It is more panoramic and aesthetically pleasing than scientific but it was becoming clear that there was a commercial audience for infographic images of this type. Coloured. [WLD4682] |
