Central London, the City, and East London. From King's Cross, Islington, Bloomsbury, and Clerkenwell across to Bethnal Green, Hackney, Whitechapel, and the Limehouse. Includes all of the City of London. Important public buildings are marked in black.
Stanford's Geographical Establishment, still operating in London to this day, first published their brand new 4-inch map of County of London in 1894. The map's incredible detail and bright, simple colouring made it an instant hit with Londoners. Customers could either purchase the full map, or they could purchase individual sections, either on paper or mounted on linen and folded. Four sections of the map focusing on the central areas of London were also published in Stanford's London Atlas of Universal Geography. This is one of the four London Atlas Series maps.
