This is the first Underground pamphlet map using Paul Garbutt's design of a horizontal Central Line, bottle-shaped Circle Line formation and the use of smooth curves.
Garbutt's design, which was an improvement on Harold Hutchinson's reworking of Beck's iconic diagram, was first implemented in 1963 for use in a poster format.
