Published by Dr. Richard Proctor, an English astronomer who wrote and published prolifically on the subject of astronomy. His most successful work, Half-Hours with the Telescope (1868) eventually ran to 20 editions. Though never hugely successful in a commercial sense, his books were popular amongst novice astronomers and serious scientists alike.
