Aaron Arrowsmith
20 x 26 cm
This map was part of Arrowsmith's highly successful "school atlases", inexpensive works published for schools to introduce children to far parts of the world and geography.
As with most maps of Arabia from this period, this map was based on the information and maps gathered by the Danish expedition to the Middle East and Arabia between 1761-7. Carsten Niebuhr was the only member of the expedition to return and his accounts were published between 1772-8.
Although dated 1823, this is the 1829 edition of this map, published posthumously.
Coloured. [MEAST4861]
