This small attractive map shows the newly expanded borders of the United States, particularly their acquisition of Florida, although this was literally happening at the time of publishing of this map. This can be seen by the division between East and West Florida, an old Spanish administrative division. The border in the Pacific Northwest is left at the 49th parallel, a neutral position. The claims of the United States to the Pacific Northwest coast in Oregon are well established by this time despite the original premise of the Louisiana Purchase being the "drainage basin of the Mississippi River."
