Pakistan and north-west India, detailing Gujarat, Rajasthan and Punjab. Published in the Journal of the Royal Geographical Society to accompany notes on the Great Rann of Kutch by Henry Bartle E. Frere (1815-1884), a British colonial administrator and former Governor of Bombay.
The Great Rann of Kutch is a large salt marsh in the Thar Desert, in the north-western Indian state of Gujarat. It is one of the largest salt marshes in the world. The map also shows the drainage basin of the Indus River, including the Punjab.
