The back of the map features advertisements for Sicily's grandest luxury hotels, including the San Domenico Palace Hotel and the Grand Hotel in Taormina. Golf, bathing, yachting, and tennis are the primary entertainments advertised.
Amusingly, the map also features a table with driving distances to Palermo and Taormina from cities as remote as Stockholm, Barcelona, and London. There are further directions on the back for more conventional visitors travelling by rail, sea, or plane.
