Large, detailed map of Northern Arabia showing Kuwait, the Tigris-Euphrates Delta in Iraq and the northern part of Saudi Arabia. The map marks the final journey of Captain William Henry Shakespear, the first Briton to make official contact with Ibn Saud, the future king of Saudi Arabia. Shakespear was killed in 1915 while fighting alongside Ibn Saud against the Ottoman forces in Arabia. Original printed colour. [MEAST4721]
