Lovely example of Zatta's map of Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera, the latter being in an inset on the lower centre.
Geographically, these maps are based on the charts by Bellin published in the mid 1750s. Bellin was the French Hydrographer to the King, and had access to the archives of the French Admiralty.
As is almost always the case, a charming pictorial cartouche is present on the upper left.
