Separately issued folding map of Ireland divided into its counties.
Geographically, this map is closely based on the wall map of Ireland published posthumously by John Rocque. Rocque's map was published by Robert Sayer between 1762 and 1773 and acted as the main source for maps of Ireland until Daniel Beaufort's map was published in 1792.
Bowles' map appeared both as a separate issue backed on linen and in his atlases with the former generally believed to be scarcer.
