Nicolas de Fer
47 x 56 cm
This is the eighth and last plan of Paris from a work compiled by Nicolas de la Mare entitled the "Traite de la Police." De la Mare was a magistrate with an abiding interest in urban administration and planning and the work is considered highly important in the study of the those fields.
There were a total of eight maps illustrated within the work, tracing the history of the development of the city. These were provided by Nicholas de Fer.
Although the work was published in 1729, it is believed that this map showed the city as it was in 1705, during the reign of Louis XIV.
