Samuel Leigh
13 x 18 cm
Illustrated imagining of the constellations of the Glory of Frederick, Andromeda and the Triangle.
The first was named to celebrate the achievements of the Prussian King, Frederick the Great. The Triangula is usually known as the Triangulum constellation and named after its three brightest stars which resemble a triangle.
As with all the works from Leigh's Urania's Mirror, pinholes through the major stars are meant to highlight them when looked through at a candle. [CELEST1472]
