Henry Teesdale
35 x 43 cm
The first edition of this map in 1835 shows the northern portion of Maine marked as disputed between Canada and the United States. This border has now been settled with a note giving the date of 1842.
Early railways are marked in the northeast; substantial advances have been made from earlier editions of this map. Note the planned extension between Augusta and Pensacola. There are also several isolated stretches of railway between settlements in what was then the west, now Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee.
