The most prominent geographical inaccuracy is the depiction of California as an island. Australia and New Zealand are both incomplete, following Abel Tasman's mapping of 1644. The south polar region is entirely empty - the unknown southern landmass, 'Terra Australis Incognita', which often appears on Dutch Golden Age maps has been left off this map in favour of an empty sea.
