As well as illustrating various historical aspects of the county, the map also celebrates its wartime agricultural achievements, such as increasing the output of food by over 70% . The important historical sites of Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, and Malmesbury Abbey are depicted in vignettes, as is Wilton House, the headquarters for Southern Command during the war. Army, Navy, and Air Force badges associated with Wiltshire are used to decorate the map's border. Continuing the agricultural theme, the map is dedicated to Robert Hudson, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.
