These discoveries include the Lakes of Africa, the course of the River Congo, the outline of Lake Nyasa and the outline of Lake Albert. The only political boundary present are the borders of the British territory in southern Africa. All other political borders are confined to the coastline.
The right border bears three insets, the islands of Mauritius, Bourbon and the territory of Natal.
