Two maps on one sheet detailing the latest discoveries of islands in the South Pacific. The upper map shows the islands in the northern part of Polynesia while the lower map shows the south.
This attractive map, shown in Brue's typically clear style, marks the newly discovered islands in the Pacific. In a text panel in the lower right, Brue details the sources he used for the positioning of the islands. Some of the sources quoted are Krusenstern, Espinosa, Arrowsmith, Vancouver and Duperrey.
The map was first issued in 1826 revised and corrected by Brue in 1827. This issue was published posthumously by Picquet in 1834.
