Arresting panoramic pictorial map of Lake Como in northern Italy with the city of Como in the foreground. Separately printed to promote travel to the region.
Berann, an Austrian, became very famous for his distinctive style of panoramic maps. His clients included the National Geographic Society and the Italian Olympic Committee for whom he produced maps for Rome Olympics. He also worked in the same capacity for the Austrian government but this time for maps of the Winter Olympics.
On this occasion, the map was printed from his design to encourage tourism to Lake Como in northern Italy. The reverse bears multiple panels of text and illustrations of leisure activities available. An image of the reverse is available upon request.
