Nicolas Sanson
19 x 25 cm
This map is a reduced version of Sanson's large map of the Peninsula first issued in 1654. The coastline has been re-drawn and departs from the shape originally introduced by van Linschoten in his map of 1599. Sanson's map, in both its sizes acted as a template for the Peninsula for over fifty years.
As is usual for the Zunner edition, the script is in Latin as opposed to French. [MEAST4607]
