Samuel Wallis and Philip Carteret were both Royal Navy Officers who circumnavigated the world. They both participated in the circumnavigation of 1764-6. John Byron circumnavigated the world twice, the first time under the command of George Anson and the second, under his own command, again in 1764-6.
