This splendid folding map of London extends from Hammersmith to Greenwich and from Camberwell to Stoke Newington. The geographical survey is credited to John Outhett.
This map, variants of which were first published by Robert Holmes Laurie as early as 1820, was printed in many editions and was frequently updated to reflect the new developments occurring across London in the 19th century. The earliest examples did not include any areas west of Chelsea, for example. The two westernmost panels showing Kensington, Fulham, Notting Hill, Earl's Court, Kensal Green, and Hammersmith were only added in the 1837 edition.
