Miniature map of South America published in the 1616 Latin edition of Bertius' "Tabularum Geographicum Contractarum".
This is a reduction of Jodocus Hondius' map of South America from his famous rendition of the New World featuring a large vignette known as "The Manioca Eaters". Bertius has taken just South America from that map and reduced it to a miniature format. Bertius was brother-in-law to Hondius so presumably he had both access and permission to copy the latter's maps.
