Two maps on one page showing the coast of Manchuria (above) and the Korean Peninsula (below). These maps are derived from the survey expeditions of Bouchez (1852) and May, Wilder, Johnson & Jones (1855), as well as British Admiralty charts. They are light on interior detail, but the coasts are very well charted. Korea was still largely unknown to European mapmakers in the 1850s due to Korea's policy of isolation.
