James Hall
59 x 83 cm
This map was created and published by the eminent American geologist James Hall to illustrate the fourth volume of his report on the geology of New York state. Hall was a proponent of the 'New York System' of geological classification which is now used widely around the world to name and describe geological features. This is the first regional map to employ the New York System, making it a foundational geological map.
