Rare, separately issued folding example of Wyld's fine detailed map of the Upper and Lower Provinces of Canada, from the east coast to the Detroit River.
The map also covers a large part of the north eastern United States, including Maine, New Hampshire, New York State, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
The map has remarkable detail The source for Canada was most likely taken from government sources, probably via John Arrowsmith's map of the same area published approximately ten years earlier.
Although this map is present in several public collections, it is rare on the market. There are two versions, differentiated by the presence of an inset on the upper left. Examples with the inset seem to be a little scarcer than those without.
The example offered for sale has the inset, showing the Maritime Provinces and is also a zincograph which seems to be even more unusual for this map.
