This map is from a French edition of David Ramsay's "History of the Revolution of South Carolina". The English edition is illustrated with an English version of this map believed to have been engraved by Thomas Abernethie in Charleston. This French example was re-engraved in Paris by Charles Picquet.
Ramsay's maps of the Revolutionary War, both in English and French, remain some of the more accessible pieces in a highly competitive field of collecting.
