Giovanni De Agostini
42 x 52 cm
Lombardy in the north of Italy, showing Milan as the focus of the region.
To produce these maps, De Agostini collaborated with Vsevolod Petrovic Nicouline, a Russian illustrator, painter and ceramicist. Nicouline fled the Bolshevik Revolution to Istanbul where he met his wife. They both travelled to Genoa, Italy and finally settled in Nervi, where he opened a studio and became a well-regarded artist.
This example is from the 1941 edition of the work.
Printed colour with gold and silver highlights. [IT3655]
