George W. Bacon
33 x 50 cm
A section of Bacon's New Large Scale Ordnance Survey of London and Suburbs showing Chelsea, Clapham, Fulham, and Barnes. Parks, commons, and other green spaces are tinted in green. Major roads are in yellow. Important buildings, such as railway stations, hospitals, workhouses, exhibitions, and museums are in black.
By the time of this map’s publication, most of Fulham had been developed, though large parts of Barnes and Chiswick remained open fields. Neither Craven Cottage or Stamford Bridge football grounds appear on the map, suggesting a publication date of between 1890 and 1895.
Printed colour. [LDN6965]
