This map is very much derived from Lotter's master and later father-in-law, Matthias Seutter. It bears the characteristics of Seutter's maps, such as the flamboyant engraving and the bold original colour. Geographically, the map is sourced from Seutter who in turn used Homann's map as his inspiration.
