The second of only three WW2 maps of the London Underground with all of the lines printed in brown due to wartime restrictions on colour printing. The river, a simple border, and the locations of the mainline train stations are the only features printed in blue. Designed by Hans Schleger (aka 'Zero').
The back of the map features two close-up maps of Central London with Underground stations marked with clear, red 'X' symbols. An earlier 1939 Underground map, also by Schleger, featured the same map sections on the back, but with each of the station entrances marked. Possibly for public safety, the specific locations of station entrances are no longer marked, only the general locations of each station.
