The work was published both in folio and small folio. The map bears geological division but has been further refined with additional palaentological information, particularly the location of fossil finds. A key on the upper right locates these on the map. Numerous notes accompany the coast of the map adding further finds. The skull and antlers of the great Irish Elk adorn the upper centre of the map.
