A folding wall map of the world focusing on commerce and communications. Railways, steamer routes, telegraph cables, wireless stations, and oiling stations are indicated. Warm and cold ocean currents are also illustrated using elegant, swirling white lines. European colonial possessions are coloured according to an index below the map. Smaller inset maps show the Panama Canal and the Suez Canal in greater detail.
Though undated on the map itself, the geography provides an approximate date of 1925. The border between British Egypt and Italian Libya has been resolved, the capital of Norway has been altered, rather crudely, from Kristiania to Oslo, and control of Jubaland on the border between Italian Somaliland and Kenya is in the process of being transferred from Britain to Italy. Canberra is not yet shown as the capital of Australia, so we can definitively date this map to either 1925 or 1926.
