Miniature map of Malta signed by Morden but used Gordon's "Geography Anatomiz'd".
The printing history and the plate history of Robert Morden's miniature maps is extremely complicated. This particular map has been tentatively traced to the third edition of Pat Gordon's "Geography Anatomiz'd", which used Morden's maps but with alterations. Gordon's editions did not include Morden's printed descriptions below the map, nor did they have lines of latitude and longitude. In other respects, they remained very similar and they used Morden's imprint.
Geographically, this map is based on Pierre Duval's map miniature map dating to 1660.
