Large, double folio map of Provence by Jaillot based on Sanson. The geographical source for this map is one of Sanson's "Carte Generales" although this map has been enlarged and much greater detail has been added to the coastline, no doubt helped by Jaillot's involvement in the publication of the "Neptune Francais" a hydrographic atlas of of the French coast, around the same period. Jaillot has also added the two large elaborate cartouches, diverging from Sanson's strictly scientific outlook.
