This was the official map distributed by the California State Automobile Associations, one of the oldest in the United States. The map was first issued in 1917 and continued to be issued until about 1940 in this format. Judging by the development of the system shown on this example, this was one of the later issues.
The corners and the shape of the title add a charming art deco period feel to the piece.
