A WW2-era physical map of Indonesia, Borneo, Malaysia & Singapore, first published by the British Army in 1928, but reproduced by the 512 Field Survey Company, Royal Engineers in 1942 to support the war against Japan. The map includes the Dutch islands of Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Bali, Lombok & Timor, as well as Borneo, Singapore, and southern Malaysia. The colour shading on the map indicates elevation. Important infrastructure, such as roads, railways, and telegraph lines are marked. Unsurprisingly, given the map's 1920s origins, the map does not mark airfields, an indication of how outdated Allied maps and intelligence could be in the early part of the war.
