Sayer & Bennett
20 x 15 cm
First published in 1777 by Robert Sayer and John Bennett, this small map was part of the Scotch Atlas, published as a companion volume to the firm’s earlier “Irish Atlas” published in 1776. The geography of the maps is based on the surveys of James Dorret. These were edited and compiled by Mostyn John Armstrong and engraved by Harry Ashby. There were three editions of the work in 1777, 1787 and 1794 with the first two being particularly scarce.
Original colour. [SCOT1846]
