Although the map is a reduced version of Sanson's larger map, the underlying geography is based on Johannes de Laet's maps of the New World.
This example is from the only German edition of Sanson's quarto atlas compiled by Johann Zunner in 1679. This edition can be identified by the use of Latin on the titles as opposed to French. [SAM3600]
