The New England region together with Maine and Pennsylvania, as far west as the country south of Lake Ontario.
This map was part of the "Gazettiere Americano", an Italian edition of the earlier English "American Gazetteer". Unusually, it lacks any signatures of individual engravers but the whole work was compiled and edited by Marco Coltellini.
The Italian "Gazettiere" was greatly augmented by the addition of maps and illustrations. In this case, the source map for the example above was Jacques Nicholas Bellin who issued it in the "Histoire Generale des Voyages". [USA9945]
